bedroom paint progress!

I hope you had a lovely weekend…and Father’s Day!

My weekend included a little baseball, a little yard sale-in’,
a little celebrating Dad, and a little painting.

I love the progress so far and it’s such a difference {already}
from the before in my shameful prettiest ugliest room post.

There’s nothing a little white paint can’t fix
and I’m so happy that this little room in the serious rough,
is on it’s way to being a sparkling little diamond.

I originally intended to paint the ceiling lavender gray,
but I ended up choosing a beautiful grayish linen color instead.
(I’m not quite sure if lavender will make it’s way into this room.)

Both are Ben Moore colors.

I had London Fog mixed at 75%
and it’s nearly an identical match to Restoration Hardware’s “Mist” cotton.
Lovin’ RH fabrics, by the way.

I painted the built-ins with General Finishes Milk Paint in “Snow White” from Rockler.

This room will be mostly white & natural
with layers of soft Belgian linen, cotton poplin, and voile
in shades of white and grayish oatmeal.

I can’t wait to get behind my sewing machine this week
and begin working on a new duvet cover, bed skirt, shades, curtains, pillows, etc.

Speaking of sewing,
I’ll be a regular contributor to
Homebound Magazine!

I’m so grateful to Heather for inviting me to be a
part of her team and lovely publication!
You’ll find a sewing project and tutorial in each issue,
starting in August.

How cool is that?!

I don’t mind the painted paneling so much now that’s it’s white and a little cottage-y…

…and I DEFINITELY don’t mind my wood floors now they are {almost} white.
I just primed and painted the first coat tonight.

Hopefully we can move our furniture in tomorrow night
and then I can really get a feel for the room.

It will be cozy for sure.

Just the way I like it.

I still need to paint the huge fireplace,
but before I do,
I’m considering attaching shake shingles
to the brick with construction adhesive.
I’ll either whitewash or weather them up a little.

I have to share this little photo of Grey too.
That child plays outside all. day. long.
(The other two are allergic to the sun, I swear.)
Anyhow, it started to sprinkle a bit this afternoon.
A few minutes later, I see this little “turtle” walk by.
Grey came inside and grabbed a laundry basket to shield himself from the rain
while he played in the dirt with his “exabators” and dump trucks.
It was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.
