lavender burlap

Hello, loves.

Yesterday, I put finishing touches on the packaging
for two custom orders.
{Thank you, Alima & Deborah!}

I thought the packages looked adorable,
so I wanted to share these little lavender burlap bags with you!

As usual, I kept the packaging simple
with “fl” stamped on cotton scraps and attached with a clothespin.
A few sprigs of lavender for a sweet smelling delivery and done.

Alima ordered a chair back slipcover that I repurposed from a thrift store shirt.
I had some sleeve scraps lefts with pretty detail, so I stitched up a little sachet for her, too.
I just tied it around the burlap bag with another scrap piece.
Waste not, want not.

I can’t show you the whole chair slip yet
because I’m over the moon and stars excited and grateful to have been asked
to contribute to one of my favorite vintage e-magazines this Spring.
I’ve been over here working on laundry-makings and photography.
I {pray} that the styling and photography turn out
pretty enough to grace the pages!

I’ve learned a few new photography tidbits in the process.

Who knew that “unsharpen mask” in Photoshop Elements actually sharpens images?
For the love of cupcakes, WHY can’t it be called something obvious like,
oh, I don’t know…
“sharpen mask”?

Just throwing that out there.

Anyhow, here’s a little smidgen of the slip
because it’s white and lacey and ruffly and cotton
and that always makes posts prettier. ;)

Back to the lavender bags.
I think they would be so cute folded over
with little herb plants or succulents inside.
You can plant directly into burlap bags too (as in no container needed).
The weave is loose enough to permit drainage when you water.

I tucked a little jam jar from a friend inside this one…

I was sad to find that the Etsy shop that I purchased the bags from
is no longer is business,
but I found them here for you if you’d like some too!

(The bags in my photos are the 5 x 7 size.)

What would you/do you use burlap bags for in your home?

Off to my son’s baseball game…
Go Rockies!

well i can’t wait for the full reveal, of both the slipcover and the e-magazine. in my ever so humble opinion you have pretty flawless taste (and of course craftsmanship) and your photos aren’t too shabby either – so it would be pretty surprising if you weren’t picked up for publication…
