Viv peek and finds

Hi, lovelies.

Technically, it’s still Thursday…even though it’s a late post.
I wasn’t able to post on Tuesday, so I didn’t want to miss Thursday too…
…and I’m d.y.i.n.g. to share a little sneak peek of Viv.
(Remember her?)

I got up bright and early this morning and got to work,
hoping to have Viv painted, waxed, and styled tonight,
but an experiment gone wrong meant repainting a bit.
You won’t know unless you try, right?

So, for now, here’s just a smidgen of Viv…
Antique Armoire Freckled Laundry

I’ve fussed a little bit more since the photo,
and I’ll fuss some more and finish up tomorrow night.
I have a little sewing to do for this piece, too.

Speaking of sewing, I found some cute things while yard sale’ing this weekend,
including more shirts for chair back slips.
The white one on the bottom right is already spoken for
by one of my blog reading soul sisters, Alima
and will be sewn into a sweet little slip for one of her chairs this weekend.
{Thank you, Alima!}

I also hit a fancy pants estate sale.
This lady (rest in peace) was shabby chic before shabby chic was shabby chic.
An O.G.
SO many beautiful things…and the floral paintings?
Oh my.
I wanted to scoop everything up for those of you who embrace pastels and florals!
But, I would have had some explaining to do when I got home.
I left with only a book, East of Eden,
and a pink & white ceramic stand for Edyn’s room.
I think it might actually be a potted plant stand,
but I thought it would make a sweet and shabby nightstand.

Have you read East of Eden?

Anyhow, I’m keeping short & sweet tonight,
but I’ll share the whole Viv this weekend.

Have a lovely Friday,

  1. Oooh so intrigued by that Viv piece! Those vertical carvings are looking Very similar to something I have waiting in the Must Re-Do Someday barn…. Can’t wait! Also please share some chair slip photos when you get some time. Your blog is my go-to place when I need a great tutorial source: I’m coming back for: getting a great old patina for tin; chair slips; painting; and more. Lots of inspirations from you!! Happy Laundering!!!
