(air your laundry friday) textile party

Happy Thursday.

We’re gearing up for Disney vacation (leaving Sunday)
and while I spent the day surrounded by laundry, it was merely for packing.

It took me an ENTIRE day to pack for five people,
but that’s because I’m a ridiculously organized packer
and I iron each and every thing before putting individual outfits into labeled, oversized zip-loc bags.
(I think I got the zip-loc idea from Martha Stewart years ago.)
I also cut a dryer sheet into pieces and throw a piece into each bag so clothes come out smelling fresh and lovely.

Told you.

This will be the twins’ first flight and trip to the Magic Kingdom.
Jaden was two when he went to Disney,
but at the time, I was in North Carolina training for a new job, so I didn’t go along.

I’m looking forward to the smiles and “magic” next week!

While Edyn loves Princess Belle, she’s not much for dress up…
…at least not in stiff and scratchy princess gear.
If I even attempt to put a princess dress on her, she’s guaranteed to remove it within minutes.
Instead, she’ll be wearing a cute little outfit that I made (I’ll show you next week)
that includes ruffled leggings made by Jill at Sew a Fine Seam.

She actually linked up a post about them to last week’s party.

And I took a photo of how sweetly they arrived…

Aren’t they the cutest little leggings?
{Thank you again, Jill!}
She also surprised me with a navy & white ruffled scarf to match, which you can see over at her place.
Not only am I ridiculous about packing, I like to get all Clark Griswold on vacation.
The whole family will wear navy & white to the Animal Kingdom.
And green for travel day.
And red (boys and I) and red and pink (Edyn) for Magic Kingdom day.
Hey, it was either color-coordinate or go looking for the world’s biggest ball of twine.

Can you tell I’m excited and in NEED of a vacation?!

Back to pretty ruffles.
The talented Jennifer at Celebrating Everyday Life
shared her tutorial for this gorgeous Ruffled Burlap Tablecloth.

Thank you so much for linking up your laundry or taking in the inspiration.

Two simple party rules:
1. This is a textile {fabric} project party only.

(You can link up anything that uses some sort of textiles (i.e. a piece of twine) in any way.)
You can also link up inspiration.
2. Please be take a minute and link back to the party in your post.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

A Disney vacation is the absolute best! Have a wonderful time. My family always has one day where we wear tie-dyed shirts we made to match. Those make for the best group pictures!

  7. Jami!! Thank you so much for featuring my ruffled burlap tutorial!!! What a TREAT! :-) I’m completely smitten with those ruffled leggings from Jill and will be toodling right over to her site!

How exciting to be going to Disney world! I’m really anxious to take my little one and am hoping we’ll be able to go in the next year or so – she’s 20 months old right now and I think it will be great fun next summer or Fall… we’ll see how it goes. Speaking of Disney I shared a Cinderella inspired magic pumpkin dinner setting on my blog today so I definitely have Disney on the brain :-)

I must say your packing put’s mine to total shame. What a brilliant idea about putting a dryer sheet in with the clothes! I have to remember that!! I hope you have a wonderful time – share pictures please!!
    xo, Jennifer
