{air your laundry friday} textile party

Happy Friday, loves.

For those of you that don’t know,
I’m that blogger who put her sweet baby girl to bed around 8 o’clock last night,
sang a few lullabies, and accidentally fell sound asleep right along with her!

And, in doing so, slept right through air your laundry friday.

Guess what my very first thought was at 5 a.m. this morning?

“Oh, no!”

Forgive me, please.

I haven’t had a solid 9 hours of sleep in forever
and I’m sort of feeling like Rip Van Winkle at the moment…

…except I’m quite sure he didn’t have a nightmare about a zombie apocalypse.

Thank you man in Miami and 6:00 news for scaring the daylights out of me yet again.

My husband just informed me that when he came in last night to wake me,
I mumbled something about zombies, a chair disk (?),
and not sure if the bathroom door was locked from the outside.

(And, for the record, I do not believe that zombies are a real threat.

I believe in one of the worst instances of media sensationalism e.v.e.r.)

Anyhow, I’d much rather talk about pretty laundry.

Here are a handful of features from last week…

Fiona at Just Paint it White put her own pretty twist on a twine bag.
How awesome is this grommet idea for twine, ribbons, and lace?!
I would love to make four rows of five out of white linen
and hang them on my office slash craft room wall.

I just discovered Ashlyn’s blog (Pinecone) and I love it.
She has some very cool dye projects in her sidebar.
Last week, she shared these darling fabric braid ins
Simple. Sweet.

Lynn at Shabby Story shared a charming spot in her home.
She recovered the chair with an old coffee sack
and I adore how she hung the little tin inside the frame with ribbon.

For those of you without a sewing machine,
check out Jamie’s no-sew table runner made using hem tape.

Stephanie at Cre8tive Design opted for a clever magnet idea
to attach this cute ruffled skirt (made from two dust ruffles).

In an effort to be slightly better with social media
and because I just love your links,
I’ve started featuring some of the air your laundry friday features throughout the week, too!

Thank you so much for linking or looking around.

I was so hoping you would feature the twine bags and that ruffled tablecloth! I need to start my own link party so I can pick great posts! Just can’t decide for sure what to have my link parties be about and i’m a little fearful no one would link up!

  5. Pinecone says:

I am glad that you got some much needed sleep – but sounds like a nasty nightmare – hate those!

  6. BAHAHA!!! You made my Friday. Love that ruffled tablecloth. I got a sewing machine {which I had been DYYYIING for} for Christmas and has yet to even come out of the box, but when it does I am going to be here for this! Have a great weekend.

  7. Happy you got a giggle, Rasonda! I can laugh about it now but there’s nothing like waking up terrified for my life because it seemed so real. I’m just happy I didn’t punch my baby girl in a confused slumber. Hooray for your sewing machine! Hope you find some time to use it and link up!

  8. Thanks so much Jami, for featuring my little twine bags. I’m so glad you like them.
Enjoy your weekend and take it easy – you obviously needed a real rest last night !
