{air your laundry friday} #61

There is no creative way for me to intro. this news
(at least not at 9 pm)
so I’m just going to come right out and say,

Can you tell I’m just a touch excited?

I have been wanting a serger f.o.r.e.v.e.r.
and although it isn’t necessarily life-changing news for you,
it’s like front page material in the Freckled Gazette.

To make a long story short…
I was chatting with my aunt this afternoon about my blog and business
and mentioned that I was in the market for a serger, blah blah blah.

Then I heard the words,
“Oh. I have a Janome serger that I’ve used once and I’m selling for $100.”

I swear I heard angels sing on high
and snatched that thing up quicker than a New York minute.

It’s a beautiful machine and within an hour of being home,
I had it figured out and have been serging everything in sight since!

Need anything serged?

Please excuse me while I get myself together here.

Here are a handful of features from the last party…

{Thank you for linking up or just taking in the inspiration!}

Natalie at Johnny in a Dress made a bunch of these Scrappy Tutus
for her daughter’s birthday party guests. So sweet!
Cheryl at Sew Can Do shared an easy tutorial for these cute storage boxes.
Love these Cotton Kitchen Cloths from Serendipity Designs.
She also linked to the tutorial.

Kim at Made in a Day shared her trash to treasure Burlap Seashell Pictures.

Shannon at {aka} Design shared an easy Linen Napkin Tutorial

Linda at It All Started with Paint Drop Cloth made these gorgeous Drop Cloth Curtains.

Have a lovely weekend!

Okay…I’m jealous! Bring your serger…come to IL and I’ll teach you to crochet. (Unrealistic, maybe…but a girl can dream!) Thanks for the feature and CONGRATS on the serger!!!!! xo

  2. how fun…a serger! you will love it! thank you for hosting!

  3. I love sergers. When I got my first one I serged every towel edge and made lots of tshirts and rugby pants and was totally in love. It was a time when my son was small and didn’t care what he was wearing. I made all my clothes at that time and even some shirts for my husband and my dad too. I loved that time of life. Now I only pull it out when I have several projects to finish. My sewing room turned into DGS’s bedroom and sewing on the kitchen table just isn’t as convenient. I still LOVE serging though. Wish I had a project to add today but there is always next time.

So happy to hear about your serger!

The creative process of your textile line is coming along nicely. The mix of floral and graphic is brilliant.

Hello Gorgeous Hmm, is a serger what we would call an overlocker? If so, then I understand your delight ☺. J x

  18. sigit hermawan says:

    nice share information…

  19. Thanks for hosting! How exciting to have a serger and what a deal. I’m keeping an eye out for one too.

  20. Hi Jami,

So glad to hear you got a serger, and the fact that you are so darn happy about it. That worked out great for you. Isn’t it funny when you tell someone your dreams & then presto…it comes true…dreamin out loud DOL

    Kindredly, Lynnie

  21. shabbygals says:

So, so sorry….I linked up a project that does not involve fabric…I did not notice that until I linked up.

  22. How exciting. My mother-in-law has told me on several occasions that she has two, has never used them and that she was going to give me one but I haven’t seen one of them yet–finger crossed.

  23. I considered a serger when i started my curtain making business 20 years ago and they were a luxury. I didn’t think I would use it all that much, and I am curious what you will be serging…and how…so I hope you share the uses for a serger and maybe I will wonder how I lived without one!

  24. Thanks for hosting the link party! I linked up my office re-do which consisted of a table skirt and office chair re-upholstery. Happy serging!

  25. Tricia Rose says:

I was prejudiced against sergers until I bought one and realised – they are so fast!. I still don’t like the look of their edge, but they are practical…

thank you for taking a minute to write...
