vintage silver bunt pan and french cake cups

If you’ve been reading my blog for a little while,
you may have noticed that I have a weakness for silver.
silver plate.
{You get the point.}
I love it all.
I comb thrift store shelves every Wednesday looking for pretty pieces
and after about a month of walking out empty handed, I found these little lovelies…
I paid $1.99 for the silver pie plate, which I think is stainless steel.
It’s my kinda functional pretty because not only will I display it in my kitchen,
I’ll actually use it too.
The vintage mold on the left has seen better days but I love a good timeworn patina.
I just might flip it over and repurpose it into a ceiling fixture of some sort
or use it as a craft paint storage tray on my office desk. Undecided.
Not too shabby for 49 cents.
Actually, it’s just the right shabby.

The two small antique French cake molds
were purchased from Maria at Dreamy Whites.
I haven’t shared them with you yet so I thought I’d sprinkle them in this silvery post.
They were love at first sight.
Carefully wrapped parcels from Maria’s shop are always a joy to open.
Just as lovely as her photographs.
I can smell French lavender just thinking about it!
Oh wait.
I might be smelling the lavender bundles tucked all around my house.
You know what?
I just realized that I have a few more pieces I never shared with you
as I sit here looking at the antique French zinc pot sitting on my armoire!
Shame on me.
How did that happen?
I love sharing my little finds with you!
Not to mention, my projects seem to take forever to complete these days
so it gives me some pretty blog material.
I’ll share photos of the others soon.
Wishing you a beautiful Saturday. Now that you know mine is silver, what is your weakness?

  1. Hi Jami…silver melts my heart too but my biggest weakness is vintage mirrors! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Rhonda says:

Those are so beautiful… I’ve never had a thing for silver, but I’m thinking that might change ;)!

Love that mold… I can envision an entire wall in my kitchen covered in those… *sigh*

  3. laxsupermom says:

Love that fluted mold! Can’t wait to see how you end up using it!

  4. Jodi says:

i love your finds and new purchases. the mold is a fabulous find, i agree, i love the patina too.

    have a great weekend

  5. I love silver, too, Jami! In fact, I just picked up a couple of pieces this week myself. I will always take a closer look at small white pieces. I like small pieces because I can fit them in anywhere {especially now that we’ve downsized} and I’m very much into the white now. Not that I have much more room to add to what I’ve got, but hey – I can look, right? :)

  6. Anne says:

I love silver too.And the more patina the better.

  7. Jill Elaine says:

Those pieces are really really cute:) I have a weakness for really nice old linens. And chairs. and windows. and…
sigh. i have a weakness for many things it seems!!

  8. Hello dear Jami!

My Mom and Dad just gave me a box of vintage silver and “laundry”. I’ll be blogging about unpacking it soon.

You found some beautiful pieces. That mold is amazing!

I adore the French cake tins! A package from Maria is always a dream to unpack!

I look forward to hearing about your experience at the Annie Sloane

Thanks for popping in to visit Chrislyn and I. I know you are a busy one!

The best of blessings to you and your family!

  9. I love silver, especially silver trays! Everything looks better sitting on a silver tray…don’t you agree?! ;-D

  10. Oh, how sweet!

My weakness is pretty China (with roses) and silverplate flatware. I have several sets of China and 2 beautiful sets of flatware. I’ve had more but gave some of mine away…to make room for other “pretties”. :)

  11. Lovely pieces! The mold has such a lovely shape too.

  12. Love them all but that cake mold is fabulous — yes, perfect patina!

  13. Hi Jami,
My fav is the vintage mold…just love it and it is the perfect level of shabby. I don’t know if you’d be interested or not, but I am having a give-away of the book Patina Style…come on over for a chance if it is something you’d like. Kindredly, Lynnie

  14. SueAnn says:

I sure do love that fluted pan!!
    I heart it for sure.

  15. Okay …….. Now ya got me wanting these beautiful pewter lovelies!!! We just donated some stuff to the Salvation Army yesterday and I didn’t have time to look at the silver goods but I will be back tomorrow for sure. Thanks for the inspiration! Your pieces are gorgeous!

  16. poindextr says:

seashells. definitely seashells. Pretty silver is right up near the top of the list though – I really appreciate that lovely soft luster. And I so adore the pretty curled edge mold you found!

  17. I think these kinds of things make the best organizers for a craft space. I am seeing that mold as a light fixture – keep us posted.

  18. I’ve been on the hunt for silver myself! I saw this amazing wall arrangement on Pinterest made out of nothing but old silver plates and platters and now I’m determined to have it on a wall of my home. Love your blog by the way. One of my new favorite places to visit!

  19. Hi Jami!!!
