Hi, lovelies.
I'm working on my kitchen today
(Paneling is up...yeah!)
but thought I'd sit down for a second and share a few
ballerina tutu hair bow holders that I made as Christmas gifts.
Sorry this kitchen makeover is taking f.o.r.e.v.e.r. and a day!
Admittedly, I have spent much of the last week
thinking, refreshing, and planning rather than doing.
But, that's okay.
I needed it.
Soon enough, I'll pull back the imaginary velvet curtain and show you.
Anyhow.
Back to the ballerina tutus.
This idea is not my own, therefore, I won't be sharing a tutorial.
They are totally inspired by one that my sister purchased on Etsy a few years ago.
If you really want to make one, just email me and I'm happy to share how I made it.
I just don't feel right about blasting the tutorial out here on the interweb
because there are quite a few shops trying to earn an income from them on Etsy...
and one of them is the original.
I made this one for my niece using some pretty pink & green damask fabric
that my awesome friend, Stephanie sent me.
It coordinates with a pillow case and doll bedding that I made using the same fabric.
You clip the hair bows onto the satin ribbon that hangs from the bows.
I made this one for my niece, Olivia.
(You can find everything for this one at JoAnn.)
I painted a chipboard "O" with DecoArt's Glamour Dust,
mixing a little "Ice Crystal" & "Celebration Pink" together.
(You can't tell in the photo, but it shimmers.)
Pink and white shimmery tulle and satin ribbon match her bedroom.
And lastly, this one is for my sweet Edyn.
I used white Belgian linen for the bodice.
Oh, how I love Belgian linen.
Cutting it up for a craft of sorts was a little hard to swallow
but it was for my Edyn.
{Enough said.}
I'll see you tomorrow night with {air your laundry friday}.
Thanks for reading!

That is the most adorable thing I have ever seen. pinning and stumbling.
These are beautiful, Jami!! The girls are going to love them, I am sure; what girl wouldn't! :)
Can't wait to see your kitchen. They do take forever; atleast mine did too! :)
Take care!
Jodi
Oh you are sooo talented! LOVE those pretty little beauties!!! And, can't wait to see what you have in store for us in that kitchen of yours!!! Our homes are similar in layout, so it's always nice to see your room redos! :)
XOXO's,
Jessie
Oh, what a little girl's dream! I'm sure they'll be loved...and of course you get to enjoy Edyn's. :)
gorgeous!
one of the few reason I wish I had a little girl, is stuff like this!!! <3
Those are adorable! And it's very sweet of you to think of those who sell them and refrain from a tutorial. AND I agree cutting up belgian linen for a craft is hard! But this one was oh so totally worth it!
Hey Jami...makes me yearn for a grand daughter!!!

They are so lovely. I might give it a try. Although I would need to train my granddaughter to always put her clips on it..Ha Ha.
Hugs

Wow. those are sublime! My girls used to wear big grosgrain bows religiously. I would have loved something like this to keep track of them :)

Those are beautiful, Jami. So sweet and feminine!
Please make more and sell them on Etsy!!
