Lavender Garland

Hi, sweets.
I’m going to keep this post
short and sweet
as it has been quite a long day
and I’m burning the midnight oil here.
I know this posted at 7 am but I’m writing it tonight,
although there certainly are days when I’m ready to call it a long day at 7 am,
like when Edyn decides to awaken at 5 a.m. and disrupt my Circadian Rythm. Ha!)
It was Opening Day for my son’s baseball league
and we had his league parade this morning.
Jaden lives and breathes for baseball
so Spring is always such an exciting season.
His middle name is “Mattingly”, after the great “Donnie Baseball”
so it’s kind of cool that he actually loves the sport as much as he does.
The parade meant no Saturday morning yard sales but no worries.
I had my sister scope out the scene in my absense.
Oh, yes.
My sis and I both love yard sales
and that’s because our Aunt Joyce loved them,
taking me and my sis nearly every weekend when we were growing up.

Remember bag sales?
No one does them anymore.
“Must be the economy.”
My sister doesn’t mess around either.
She maps out her yard sales on her GPS,
programming the quickest routes from points A, B, C, etc.
She takes her craft very seriously.
I’m still newspaper & pencil.
I told you that I’d share my lavender garland this weekend.
I so love how it looks.
This one is heading to Wild Rose & Co.
but I’m definitely making another one for myself.
(I’ll be adding the lavender garland to my Etsy shop too.)
The fragrance is heavenly!

I toned down the saturation in these photos

but the untouched photos and the tutorial
are over at The DIY Club.

As a resident blogger,
I was given some Styrofoam to try
and chose these 1-inch balls.
(You can find them at Micheal’s or JoAnn.)
This garland is very easy to make
but there is an important tip that you’ll want to read
if you decide to make it.
Speaking of The DIY Club,
the May contest starts today…
DIY Club
You can link up any tutorial-style project for a chance to win
a very cool prize package at the end of the month.
If you don’t have anything to link, just take a look around at the gorgeous projects.
 Happy Sunday.
I’ll see you on Tuesday
with another post in the Vintage Chic Style Series.
No more lavender this week. No ma’am.
I have metal, a fabulous guest, and some faded pink for you.

I’m also sharing my garland with some of my favorite parties…

  4. Jami!
I love the image of the garland at your fireplace! It looks contemporary ~ it floats!
    It’s beautiful!

The game of baseball is in the foundation of our home…my hubs was drafted by the Giants back in the 70′s. My son Jay was drafted by the Red’s in 2002. Jay played for a couple of years in college and decided to go into broadcast journalism…A young boy with a passion for baseball is such a heartwarmer! Tell Jaden Mattingly to have a wonderful season! ~love, Lynne

  9. Lara says:

Sweet Jamie – your garland looks wayyy cute!! Totally NEEDS to be featured in a Stampington Magazine!! I love it!! That is nice that you & your sis share a yard sale hobby. I wish I could shop more with my sister but she lives all the way in the city. I can not wait for Estate Sale season – I am an estate sale junkie.. when the wwekly newspaper comes out, I have my yellow highlighter & fridge magnet ready, LOL. :))

    Oh… so sweet!!!

  13. Lavendar is my favorite fragrance in the world. What a creative use for it.

  14. Oh the memories of “yard sailing” with my kids were brought back from your post. I used to circle the good ones in the paper and take the kids out to yard sale. They would get a donut and I would grab a coffee and off we would go…this was about 20 years ago. Sadly I haven’t been yard sailing in many years, but it was such fun.
Now your lavendar garland is a delight! How sweet!

  15. I can always tell when a yard sale or garage sale is near-by as my husband draws my attention to the opposite side of the road and speeds up ever so slightly. Your sister has the right idea! GPS.

  16. So cute! A really neat idea. I think I’m going to save some of my lavender this summer rather than it just fade away outdoors.

  17. Lisa says:

  18. Olde Tyme Marketplace says:
