While I'm temporarily away handling some "business",
I am so happy to share a European sweetheart
{and her Edwardian home} with you...
Sarah at Modern Country Style
I would love to call my home an "Edwardian".
Wouldn't you?
It's so...story book.
"Rambler" just isn't the same.
I just adore her blog and
am honored that she took the time to write a post
for my lil' blog today.
for my lil' blog today.
Thank you so much, Sarah!
First of all, may I say a big thank you to Jami for taking the time when I was a new blogger to make me feel so at home in the blogging world. I really appreciated your kindness and encouragement and have really enjoyed getting to know you better. I was so over the moon when Jami invited me to guest blog at Freckled Laundry. Thank you very much for having me and I hope I do you proud!!"
The Inspiration is limited to ideas that would work well in the real world. Not just on the pages of a magazine but actually when you’re in a rush to get tea for your children, or you’ve had a long, hard day at work, I still want you to be able to have an ‘Ooooh’ moment about your house.

| Before: Our kitchen (so orange!) |
{Jami here: I especially love Sarah's addition of shelving in place of that white, metal, water heater. Carry on.}
And the Creation is because I love making (hopefully) beautiful things for our house. I usually present them as tutorials so that if you like them then you can have a go too!![]() |

I’m rather embarrassed to say that I used to hate the idea of blogging….until I started reading!! About five months ago, after being fully sucked irretrievably into the vortex of blogworld, I decided to start my very own.....I've loved every single minute of it: the lovely friends, the inspiration, the photography.....
How do you define the modern country decorating style?
Oh, I could burble on about this for aaaaages! I decided to call my blog Modern Country Style because I am positively evangelical about all things Modern Country.

{Me again. How b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. is that white door?! And those beams?! Ugh.}

What is your favorite room in your house and why?
My absolute favourite room in our house is our bedroom. It was previously so hideous that it seemed almost beyond redemption….
| Bleurgh! |
My change of mind happened when we had guests to stay. They slept in our room downstairs and we spent the night up here and... I LOVED it! Not as it was, obviously, but I suddenly began to see its potential. And this is what it’s like now:

{Sorry. Me again. Can't help myself! This bedroom is one of most breathtaking transformations I've seen.}
What has been your favorite project thus far?
I think my favourite project so far has been my Homemade Snuggly Cushion which I made out of an old woollen cardigan. I love craft projects which take something that's unloved and make something beautiful. This cushion is so cosy and warm. Lovely for curling up with now that the nights are drawing in.
Thank you so much for reading about Modern Country Style. If you've liked what I've shared then I'd love you to swing by and visit me. Any friend of Jami's is a friend of mine!!
I'll have the kettle on.....
I enjoyed getting to know more about Sarah's blog
and I hope you did, too.
You must see the cabinetry she shared on Monday,
installed in her master bedroom...
and another fabulous door.
{sigh}
Thank you so much, Sarah!
All the best with your new blog.

Jami,

I rather like being called a European sweetheart...
